Ososo is a picturesque and beautiful town of rocks and streams situated in the undulating hills in Akoko-Edo. The town is located in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in the northern part of Edo State, Nigeria. With an average altitude of 1,236 feet above the sea level, Ososo enjoys a very temperate climate similar to that of Jos, Plateau state. Like Jos, Ososo is also a tourist destination. Ososo is one of the fifteen clans that made up Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo state, in the old Kukuruku hills and the highest peak is a very large rock called Oruku rock. The town is made up four major clans called Unuku-ene (four clans) Anni, Egbetua, Okhe and Ikpena respectively. With an approximated population of over a million people and a combined population density of 5,111 per 7 kilometer radius, it is one of the largest and popular towns in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area. Ososo has a unique dialect of the Edo linguistic lineage.
